Eröffnungsabend in Sicht!

News from the BeSTivalities
Transmitted by way of radio waves, the information has become known that the raccoons of BeSTivalia will bring an artist named JuMu along with them to Bern. The aforementioned phenomenon of the joyous dances has been expanded to joyous singing.

Take the time to close your eyes and imagine:
the organizational committee of the BeSTival 2017 standing in a neat row next to one another, their paws touching their mouths which hang open in astonishment and their black eyes glistening. Thus we stand until this day and devoutly proclaim: thank you so much, dear University of Bern, for your generous financial support with which you help us realize the BeSTival 2017! The next generation of raccoon descendants shall proudly carry the name of its alma mater and remember thee.

The phenomenon Be(a)STivalitiesDear readership of the research journal for creative folk.
We are very pleased to report about the as of yet unresearched phenomenon of Be(a)STivalities.
The country of Be(a)STivalia (val bestiae), lies inside a bubble which is aimlessly orbiting around in outer space on unknown paths. It is certain, however, that this bubble is regularly consumed by a wormhole every second year and spat out somewhere in Bern. It is safe to assume that the next materialization of the bubble in our realm will happen on the 15th of March 2017 in the Gaskessel. Thanks to spacecrafts, we were able to obtain insights into the Be(a)STivalian bubble which shall now - to our great excitement - be shared with our readership:
Be(a)STivalia appears to be inhabited by raccoons whose typical behavior evidently involves the quest for riches in treasure chests buried in the local woods. The raccoons have additionally developed an appreciation of aethetics and are now embellishing their surroundings with colorfull advertising stickers. Furthermore we were able to ascertain that their presence in Bern is under the patronage of such personalities as Michael Röhrenbach of the Tojo collective, the ITW head Prof. Dr. Andreas Kotte, as well as the therewith affiliated Prof. Dr. Christina Thurner. Please note that pertinet footage exists which supports the thesis of the racoons' ability for sophisticated jigs.
We are awaiting further indications about Be(a)STivalia's arrival in Bern, which will likely be supernova-bright, and will return with more news from the val bestiae in the next edition.

The BeSTival’s back alright! After the successful two previous versions of the Bernese Student Theatre Festival – BeSTival – in the spring of 2013 and 2015, we are continuing the young tradition with a BeSTival 2017.
During the period of one week in early March 2017, we will be celebrating students’ artistic production from all around Europe under the banner of the BeSTival. In doing so, we want to create a platform where young people who are still in education can present their work. A space where the audience and performers can meet each other at eye level should emerge. In this sense, the formation of spaces of encounters between the different participants will be provided. These encounters are intended to take place during a diverse supporting programme amongst other things. This includes workshops, discussion rounds and talks from representatives of various scholarly and artistic disciplines. This way, we want to create a theatre world during one week, which enables young people to establish friendships and foster connections to other members of young European stage art and at the same time provide a space for all theatre aficionados. The goal for this event is to achieve an added cultural value by gazing at the theatre world through different lenses.
This website will be updated soon with more information about the programme, location and team. Stay tuned!
